Dal Verde
Dal Verde (After the Green) is Bellosguardo’s story. Bellosguardo is a little village in southern Italy. In the past two decades, most of its population moved out of town to seek better job opportunities. An old man told me that in 1943, when he was still a child, looking eastwards from his terrace through binoculars, he saw the American army docking in the Gulf of Paestum: "I looked across the vast valley below Bellosguardo, raising my binoculars all I could see was green. After all the Green, an expanse of ships docking on the beach."
